A Christmas Carol, The Live Radio Play (Annual Fundraiser)

Location: First Church in Marlborough, 37 High Street, Marlborough MA

The Charles Dickens holiday classic comes to life as a live 1940s radio broadcast, complete with vintage commercials for fruitcake (extra-fancy), and the magic of live sound effects and musical underscoring. A handful of actors bring dozens of characters to the stage, as the familiar story unfolds: Three ghosts take Ebenezer Scrooge on a thrilling journey to teach him the true meaning of Christmas. A charming take on a family favorite that will leave no one saying “Bah Humbug!”

Tickets: $20 Adults/ $18 Seniors/ $15 Children.  Group Discounts available for 8 or more people.

Urinetown, The Musical

In an attempt to regulate water consumption, Urinetown has outlawed the use of private toilets. The citizenry must use public, pay-per-use amenities owned and operated by Urine Good Company, a malevolent corporation run by the corrupt Caldwell B. Cladwell. Urinetown is a musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, municipal politics and musical theatre itself.

Rabbit Hole, by David Lindsay-Abaire, is the story of Becca and Howie, who have everything a family could want, until a life-shattering accident turns their world upside down and leaves the couple drifting perilously apart. Rabbit Hole charts their bittersweet search for comfort in the darkest of places and for a path that will lead them back into the light of day.

Romeo & Juliet

Ghost Light Players joins a tradition of using the beauty and genius of Shakespeare’s words against the backdrop of a universal love story to address modern issues for modern times. Two women will take the lead in this classic play. Ghost Light Players’ production will explore the complex emotions and perspectives surrounding same-sex relationships. Whatever your perspective, this production will begin a thought-provoking exploration of this much debated and very emotional social issue.
